Taketomi island

Taketomi Island is a small island with girth over sea surface about 9 km. You may reach the island by taking high speed boat for about 10 minutes from Ishigaki Island. On the eaves of red tile-roofed houses, there’re lion statuaries with various expression, brightly colored flowers are blooming on the pure white coral-sand-roads, the beautiful sounds of samisen float in the air, and the water buffalo carts gathered together casually…Unsophisticated but with traditional beauty, the original style of Okinawa are all reserved on Taketomi Island. Therefore, Taketomi Island was authorized as conservation area of important Japan tradition, and Yaeyama on the island is also the top sightseeing spot.

About 10 minutes by taking high speed boat from the outlying island passenger terminal of Ishigaki Island.
